Gilas Pilipinas Youth suffered a crushing 92-64 beating at the hands of the mighty Russians in the FIBA Under-19 World Cup Tuesday night at the Heraklion University Sports Hall in Heraklion, Greece.
Aleksandr Ershov led the Russians with 21 points, while Nikita Mikhailovskii contributed 16 points and 10 rebounds as helped the Russians hand the Filipinos a 0-3 record at the end of the classification stage.
The setback pushed the Philippines to the No. 4 spot in Group C behind top team Argentina with a 3-0 card, No. 2 Russia has a 2-1 take, while the host nation Greece is at No. 4 at 1-2.
The Nationals were battling the Serbians at presstime.
The Serbians topped Group D following their 86-76 win over the French squad for a 3-0 mark.
