Organized by the International Federation of Gamefowl Breeders Associations (FIGBA), the ‘early bird’ series is a firestarter to the annual “National Bakbakan 12 -Stag Derby” which starts in October.
FIGBA president Ricoy Palmares Jr. said participants are assured of uniformity and fair play since only FIGBA ‘early bird’ stags and locally-banded stags from FIGBA member associations will be accepted.
“This policy is in effect since the start of ‘Bakbakan’ in 2001,” said Palmares.
