A man died while another was injured Thursday night after they jumped off a window on the fourth floor of a building to escape police who caught them in an alleged pot session in Caloocan City.
Police identified the fatality as a certain “Albert” and the injured as a certain “Dudoy.”
Arrested were their cohorts Jennifer Dizon, 29; Michael Meneses, 38, tricycle driver, both residents of Barangay 175, Camarin, Caloocan City; and a 15-year-old boy.
Members of the Caloocan City Police Station Intelligence Branch (CCPS-SIB)-North conducted investigation at about 6:30 p.m. after receiving a tip that there were suspicious people at a building in Barangay 175, Camarin, Caloocan City.
According to a report, the operatives were at the fourth floor of the building when they saw two men going inside room 407.
They chased the men and saw inside the room the suspects engaged in a pot session.
Upon seeing the police, Albert and Dudoy reportedly jumped off the window to avoid arrest.
Albert died on site while Dudoy was brought to Dr. Jose Rodriguez Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
Albert’s body was brought to Jade Funeral Homes for autopsy examination.
Police recovered five sachets of suspected shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia from the scene.
The seized items were turned over to the CCPS Station Drug Enforcement Unit for disposition.
The apprehended boy was brought to the City Social Welfare and Development Office for intervention while the two other arrested suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Minka Tiangco)
