Malacañang said yesterday President Duterte will discuss trade, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people exchanges in a bilateral meeting with Singapore President Halimah Yacob today.
Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo made the statement ahead of the scheduled meeting of the two leaders in Malacañang.
Panelo said the two leaders will be talking about the “usual” stuff that are being discussed during bilateral meetings. “The usual, siyempre ‘pag bilateral ‘yung mga trade, mga cultural exchanges, mga people-to-people, the usual,” he said.
Halimah is the eighth president of Singapore. She assumed office in September 2017.
She arrived in Manila yesterday afternoon for a five-day state visit.
Her second day will start with a wreath-laying ceremony at Rizal Park in Manila in the morning before meeting Duterte.
Tomorrow, Halimah will attend the opening of the Singaporium and will meet Philippines-Singapore Business Council.
On Wednesday, she will head to Davao City for a briefing and tour of the Philippine Eagle Foundation and a dialogue with Mindanao youth. She is scheduled to return to Singapore the following day. (Argyll Geducos)
