WILL newly crowned Miss Eco Teen Philippines Vanessa Mae Walters be dethroned?
The question cropped up after the beauty queen uploaded a photo of her naked self on Instagram.
She captioned it thus: “There’s a lot of bad things there wishing on me #victoriassecret.”
It wasn’t clear if it was done on a whim or for a modeling gig.
Netizens reacted differently to the photo.
Some say it was artistically done, expressing admiration over Walters’ lithe, sculpted body.
There were others, however, who were shocked, deeming the whole thing unbecoming of a beauty queen.
Asked to comment on the Instagram photo, Miss World Philippines General Manager Arnold Mercado said simply: “We will issue a statement soon.”
Walters, 19, is taking up Law and Philosophy at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
She is the first Miss Eco Teen Philippines winner.
The pageant is under Miss World Philippines Organization as led by Arnold Vegafria.
Walters is of mixed Australian-Filipino lineage.
Prior, she was also Miss Teen Earth 2014.
She was crowned along with five other Filipino beauty queens at the Miss World Philippines 2019 pageant last Sept. 15. (ROBERT REQUINTINA)
