Partly cloudy mornings and more localized rains in the afternoon or evening will prevail over most of the country in the next few days.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said fair weather, apart from isolated rain showers, mostly in the afternoon or evening, will persist over Metro Manila, some parts of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
He said the public should remain vigilant for possible flash flooding over low-lying areas or landslides over mountainous areas during severe thunderstorms.
Thunderstorm activity most likely occurs at the warmest, most humid part of the day, which is usually the afternoon or evening.
Meanwhile, Bulquerin said a shallow low-pressure area continues to affect Ilocos Norte, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera Administrative Region.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may be felt in Ilocos Norte, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province.
He advised residents in these areas to be alert against possible flash floods or landslides due to occasional heavy rains. (Ellalyn V. Ruiz)
