TACLOBAN CITY – An official of the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 8 was found dead in his office last Thursday.
Assistant Regional Director Valente Bajet was declared dead by Tacloban City Health Officer Dr. Gloria Fabrigas after he was found unresponsive in his quarters.
Bajet entered the DILG in 1989 as a Local Government Operations Officer II and later became City Local Government Operations Officer of Calbayog City in February 2009.
He became Officer-in-Charge-Provincial Director of DILG Northern Samar in February 2011.
In 2012, he attained his Career Executive Professional Eligibility, became full-fledged provincial director in 2013, and OIC-Assistant Regional Director in November 2018.
A mass, followed by a necrological service, will be offered at 3 p.m. at the DILG 8 regional office yesterday where his body will lie until this morning, when he will be transferred to his hometown Calbayog City. He was 55. (Marie Tonette Marticio)
