Who says marijuana plantations can only be found in the mountains of the Cordilleras?
The Armed Forces of the Philippines has discovered a 1,800-square meter marijuana plantation in a raid in the jungles of Kalingalang Caluang, Sulu.
Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commanding general of the Armed Forces Western Mindanao Command, said commandos from the Marine Battalion Landing Team 7 were conducting combat operations when they discovered the marijuana plantation.
“It is planted with marijuana with estimated cost of P3.6 million,” said Sobejana.
He said the plantation is in a property owned by a certain Adzhar Jumaidim Mundoc in Barangay Masjid Punjungan.
“The area was immediately cordoned by troops of 37th Marine Company and subsequently coordinated with the barangay officials of Masjid Punjungan,” said Sobejana.
As soon as the Marine commandos found the plantation, Sobejana said they immediately coordinated with the Sulu office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Large marijuana plantations are usually found in the mountains of Cordilleras.
