CAMP MARCELO ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – A New People’s Army leader responsible for the attack at the Maddela, Quirino police station was arrested in his hideout at Diffun, Quirino, the Philippine National Police Regional Office 2 reported.
Police Brig. Gen. Angelito Casimiro, PRO 2 director, said Reynaldo Miguel Busania, Head Communication, Regional Organization Department, Komiteng Rehiyon-Cagayan Valley, was arrested in Barangay Magsaysay last Monday.
Casimiro said authorities served a warrant of arrest against Busania for murder with multiple frustrated murder, serious illegal detention, violation of Republic Act No. 6539 (Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972), robbery, and arson.
“Busania is one among the NPA rebels responsible in the attack at the Maddela police station last April 29, 2017 which resulted into the killing of one personnel of the police station,” Casimiro said.
Also arrested by authorities was Busania’s live-in partner, Sharon dela Cruz Malubay, who is allegedly a member of the NPA serving as medical officer, Platoon Bravo, Northern Front, KR-CV.
A case of adultery is being prepared against the suspects and another case of harboring of criminal is also being prepared against Manubay for harboring Busania who has standing warrants of arrest. (Zaldy Comanda and Freddie Lazaro)
