A female jail visitor ended up behind bars after trying to sneak sachets of shabu concealed in a packed “hotsilog” (hotdog, sinangag, itlog) breakfast meal into the detention cell of Fairview Police Station (PS-5) in Quezon City Tuesday morning.
Authorities said the suspect, Camie Olaguer, 27, a resident of Barangay Gulod, was arrested for possession of illegal drugs.
Police Lieutenant Jeffrey Bilaro, chief of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) PS-5, said Olaguer went to the station on Pearl Street in Barangay Greater Fariview around 3 a.m. to deliver food to his detained friend, Bon Marco Medina.
Based on police record, Medina was arrested last week also for illegal drugs.
According to Bilaro, the jail officer-on-duty refused to allow Olaguer inside the cell as it was still non-visiting hours, but the suspect insisted.
When the duty officer inspected the food pack intended for her detained friend, he discovered five sachets of suspected shabu under the “hotsilog” (hotdog, rice and egg) meal.
A disposable lighter was also found hidden inside the food pack, prompting the police officers to place her under arrest.
During questioning, the suspect claimed she had no idea that there were sachets of illegal drugs hidden in the food pack as she was just instructed by Medina’s family to deliver it to him.
Olaguer is now under the custody of PS-5 and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
