BACOLOD CITY – Police probers have found two fake license plates inside the vehicle of one of the suspects in the gunslaying of radio broadcaster Dindo Generoso in Dumaguete City early this month.
The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office said the two improvised license plates (FAX 5801) recovered from a Mitsubitshi Strada owned by Tomasino Aledro, alleged Small Town Lottery financier in the province, will be used as among the evidence in the Generoso slay case.
Aledro has been tagged as one of the four suspects in the radioman’s death. He remains at large.
Police Col. Julian Entoma, Negros Oriental police director, said police opened the vehicle on Wednesday based on a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Gerardo Paguio Jr. in Dumaguete City to check for latent prints which could help them in their investigation.
The vehicle was found in a secluded area in Barangay West Balabag, Valencia, Negros Oriental, a few days after the Nov. 7 killing.
Entoma said no prints were visible upon checking, but the two fake license plates recovered from the vehicle can be considered significant in the investigation of the murder case.
He said that the recovered fake car plates matched the license plate of a pickup truck captured by a closed circuit television camera near the crime scene.
“Idadagdag namin ito sa aming ebidensya. Bakit may pekeng plaka? Baka intentional na ginawa ‘yun, na puwedeng may conspiracy din iyong may ari,” he added. (Glazyl Masculino)
