Government employees will receive an early Christmas gift after President Duterte approved the grant of service recognition incentive (SRI) in appreciation of their work dedication and diligence.
Under Administrative Order No. 19, a one-time incentive at a uniform amount not exceeding P10,000 will be given to each employee in the executive department. The payment of the incentive to qualified employees shall be made not earlier than December 20.
“Government employees deserve to be rewarded to recognize their collective and unceasing participating in and invaluable contribution to the administration’s continuing efforts toward the establishment of streamlined government processes and more responsive delivery of public services,” the order read.
Covered by the incentive program are civilian personnel in national government agencies, including state universities and colleges and government corporations occupying regular, contractual or casual positions as well as military and other uniformed personnel.
The incentive will be given provided the civilian personnel occupies regular, contractual or casual posts; personnel are in government service as of November 30; and personnel rendered at least four months of service as of November 30. Personnel who rendered less than four months of service will be entitled to a pro-rated share of the incentive.
Excluded from the SRI grant are consultants, laborers engaged through job contracts, student workers and apprentices, and persons engaged through job orders and contracts of service.
The President said employees in the Senate, House of Representatives, judiciary, Office of the Ombudsman and constitutional offices may also be granted a one-time SRI by their respective heads.
The incentive for employees in local government units, on the other hand, will be determined by their respective Sanggunian depending on the financial capability.
The order, signed by the President last December 2, takes effect upon publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper. (Genalyn D. Kabiling)
