The bicameral conference committee yesterday approved the report on the proposed P4.1-trillion national budget for 2020.
Members of the joint panel signed and adopted the report during a meeting at the Manila Polo Club in Makati City.
The report will be presented to the Senate and House of Representatives for ratification. Senate President Tito Sotto said the Senate is eyeing its ratification yesterday afternoon.
After it is ratified, the report would be sent to President Duterte for immediate approval and signature.
Sen. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, had earlier said Congress is on track in passing next year’s budget as lawmakers are committed to prevent a reenacted budget. (Hannah L. Torregoza)
