A Chinese fugitive allegedly involved in illegal drug activities was arrested by Manila police in an operation in Clark, Pampanga.
Police Major Rosalino Ibay, Jr. of the Manila Police District Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (MPD SMaRT) said Wang Janquiang, 40, is a leader of a criminal syndicate in Quanzhou, China.
Elements of the MPD SMaRT nabbed the suspect in Clark on January 17. He was presented to Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Monday.
Investigation showed that Janquiang has been living in Manila for a year and is involved in Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO).
Domagoso said the suspect will be turned over to the Bureau of Immigration for proper coordination with the Chinese government.
Follow-up operation is ongoing for the arrest of the suspect’s Filipina cohort, according to police. (Minka Tiangco)
