BACOLOD CITY – Five persons were arrested Wednesday after police seized from them more than 230 grams of suspected shabu worth P3.5 million in a buy-bust at Menlo Village Phase 3, Barangay Zone 10 in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the suspects as Ma. Delmar Parohinog, 22; Joahnna Lusabia, 20; Homark Orquia, 27; Rommel Ferrer, 24; and Jason Parohinog, 19, all residents of Barangay Mambulac, Silay City.
Col. Romeo Baleros, Negros Occidental police director, said that intelligence operatives of Silay City Police Station led by Maj. Rollie Pondevilla were supposed to hold the transaction in Silay City, but it was suddenly changed when the targets decided to meet up in the neighboring city of Talisay past 2 p.m.
Baleros said Silay policemen immediately coordinated with Talisay City Police Station led by Maj. Jigger Gimeno and raided the targets’ rented apartment in the said village.
He said that policemen had difficulty at first because the targets would usually transfer from one place to another.
“They’ve been staying there for a week now,” he added.
The female Parohinog and Lusabia were listed as a high-value target drug personality in Silay City, police report said.
Baleros said that the suspects told him that the items came from Michael Divinagracia, who was tagged as an alleged drug group leader based in Silay City. (Glazyl Masculino)
