The Philippine National Police has reshuffled 26 police officers, including a district director and three city police commanders in Metro Manila.
PNP chief Police Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa relieved from their posts effective Thursday Southern Police District director Police Brig. Gen. Nolasco Bathan; Pasay City police chief Police Col. Bernard Yang, Muntinlupa City police chief Police Col. Gerard Umayao, and Caloocan City police chief Police Col. Noel Flores.
Bathan was reassigned as the deputy regional director for operations of the National Capital Region Police Office.
Replacing Bathan at the SPD in an acting capacity was Police Col. Emmanuel Peralta.
Yang, Umayao, and Flores were transferred to the NCRPO Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit.
Seven station commanders and personnel in Metro Manila were affected by the reshuffle. They were reassigned to the NCRPO-RPHAU.
Gamboa provided no immediate reason on the reshuffle.
But Police Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas, NCRPO director, said the station commanders were relieved for their supposed failure to curb illegal gambling in their areas of responsibility. Sinas said the three city police commanders were uprooted for command responsibility. (Martin Sadongdong)
