The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced on Wednesday the routes of buses deployed to ferry frontline health workers amid the implementation of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.
Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said the department’s road sector agencies were directed to deploy free bus service to transport health workers for free after the government suspended all public transport operations in Luzon while the island is under quarantine to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Ten buses were initially deployed beginning Wednesday morning to serve health workers at two pick-up points set at the ParaƱaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), and at the BFCT East Metro Transport Terminal in Marikina City.

“We are racing against time to contain this deadly virus. So this initiative will truly help our frontliners do their jobs as they are the ones who are strenuously and heroically holding the line to keep our country safe,” Tugade said in a statement. (Alexandria San Juan)
