LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Government authorities seized and destroyed P13.2 million worth of marijuana plants and 10 sacks of dried marijuana at the forested area of Sitio Ganga, Poblacion, Kibungan, Benguet.
Police Colonel Elmer Ragay, provincial director, said operatives of Benguet Provincial Police Office and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) uprooted P3.2 million worth of marijuana plants, and discovered sacks of dried marijuana leaves and stalks weighing 110 kilos worth P10 million.
The confiscated marijuana were burned on site.
Meanwhile, a high-value drug target identified as Eric Laurian Tiangga, 33, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Buyagan, Poblacion, La Trinidad; while another drug personality identified as Jason Vida Alejandro was caught in possession of illegal drugs at the intersection of Balsigan and Palispis Highway, Baguio City.
Confiscated from Tiangga was a sachet of suspected shabu, P3,500 boodle money, and a cellular phone; while marijuana leaves were seized from Alejandro. (Zaldy Comanda)
