ILOILO CITY — A 40-year-old construction worker at popular Boracay Island was arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP) for a separate online threat against President Dutete.
The PNP of Malay town, Aklan province arrested Ronald Deliaba Quiboyen Tuesday night in Yapak village of the popular beach destination.
In a spot report, the Malay PNP said it received numerous reports of the public post of Quiboyen via social networking site Facebook that he is offering a P100-milion reward to kill Duterte.
“Yong 50-milyon nyo doblihin ko, gawin kung 100-milyon kung sino makapatay kay Duterte. Andito ako ngayon sa Boracay,” Quiboyen wrote.
Quiboyen’s Facebook post is a reference to the Twitter post of 25-year-old teacher Ronnel Mas, who was arrested Monday by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Zambales for allegedly offering online a reward money to anyone who can kill the President.
Quiboyen was arrested on the grounds of inciting sedition as well as allegedly violating the Cybercrime Law.
The Malay PNP has since turned over Quiboyen to the PNP’s Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU) and PNP’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for appropriate filing of charges.(Tara Yap)
