Six persons, including a retired policeman and beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), were caught by police engaging in illegal gambling in Barangay District III Gamu, Isabela.
Police Captain Clarence Labasan, spokesperson of Isabela Provincial Police Office, identified suspects as retired cop Juanito Nalleb, 64; and SAP beneficiaries Jocelyn Ariola, 46; Rosita Medrano, 62; and Imelda Dupaya, 56; barangay health worker Josie Paclibar, 46, a 4Ps beneficiay; and Sol Preza Dupaya, 53. They are all residents of Brgy. District III, Gamu, Isabela.
The suspects were arrested around 2:15 p.m. on May 13 by police while in the act of playing a card game called “tong-its”, a violation of the general community quarantine (ECQ) regulation.
The suspects and the confiscated evidence were brought to Gamu Police Station. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
