NO POLITICS — Asked if she’s interested in politics, Regine Velazquez’s curt answer was a big no. She hastened to add she’s voting next year, but she’d rather not name any names. Regine said she’d support whoever her husband, Ogie Alcasid, is voting for.
Ogie himself isn’t keen on running for a political position, although he’d been asked by friends and townmates.
Ogie’s from Taal, Batangas.
“As you very well know, I’m more into showbiz,” she said.
Yes, indeed, acting, hosting, and especially singing.

CONCERT IN NOVEMBER — Regine’s topbilling a musical even this month of November: “Regine… at the Theatre (Solaire)” on Nov. 6 and 7, 20 and 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets available at Ticket World. Take note that none will be sold at the Solaire gate.
Regine will be singing excerpts from Broadway and local productions, including very popular Aegis songs.
If this columnist is not mistaken, this is the first time Regine is mounting a theatre concert… if there’s really such a term, no matter, it’ll certainly be an event to look forward to.
Regine’s, sister-manager Cacai and her husband, musical director Raul Mitra, are collaborating on the concert, which has no director to speak of. But then Regine has enough experience to direct one.
Main sponsor of “Regine…at the theatre (Solaire)” is PLDT Home.

ENJOY, ENJOY – At this point in her life and career, Regine has nothing more to prove. She’s fulfilled wife to Ogie Alcasid and mother to Nate. Her stature in showbiz is secure… Asia’s Songbird and box-office star.
And it shows in her shows, especially concerts. She’s relaxed and cool, out to enjoy performing before faithful and adoring fans. And in return they interact so well with their idol. In the words of a “Reginenian,”
“Enjoy na enjoy ako kasi parang ako lang ang kinakantahan ni Regine… kahit alam kong libo-libo kami sa audience.
Ganyan ang effect niya.”
So there. (RONALD CONSTANTINO)
