The Choco Mucho Flying Titans have signed veteran setter Deanna Wong and University of Santo Tomas standout Caitlyn Viray to bolster their roster for future Premier Volleyball League competitions.
The signing of the two players were formally announced at the team’s official social media accounts on Sunday night, welcoming the two players to the family.
“Everything is SET. Bet you all saw this coming! Let’s all welcome Deanna Wong as she officially joins the Choco Mucho Flying Titans family!” said the team in a tweet on their account, @CMFlyingTitans.
“My oh my! It’s Caitlyn Viray! Welcome to the Choco Mucho Flying Titans family! We can’t wait to soar with you on the court!” added another tweet.
The 5-foot-8 Wong played a stellar role for Ateneo’s title run last year that saw her winning the Best Setter Award. In the same year, she also played for Motolite in the PVL Season 2 Open Conference.
Viray, meanwhile, was part of the UST squad that settled for a runner-up finish to Ateneo. She can play as middle blocker and wing spiker.
She previously played in club teams Smart-Army and Marinerang Pilipina in the Philippine Superliga.
The Flying Titans, who are hoping to erase the stigma of a seventh place finish in the 2019 Open Conference, have earlier signed veteran libero Denden Lazaro last month.
Team sports have yet to be allowed during quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic but PVL organizers are already planning to hold at least one conference this year once restrictions are eased.
