Ice hockey was formally accepted into the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) family on Monday.
POC President Bambol Tolentino said polo and pole and aerial associations were likewise given recognition by the POC, which met for the first time during the coronavirus era.
Tolentino said they will resume the discussions this Friday in the hopes of resolving issues relative to the mechanics of the November 2020 POC elections.
With ice hockey now a voting member, the number of NSAs has reached 48 being a regular member.
Tolentino, also head of Philcycling, took over from boxing chief Ricky Vargas last year after a special election ordered by the court.
“We are looking at coming to an agreement when we get together again this Friday,” said the Tagaytay congressman.
