Manila City intensified its fight against coronavirus pandemic as it also launched its first walk-in testing facility at Ospital ng Sampaloc Monday morning.
On the same day, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno also opened its second drive-thru testing center at the Quirino Grandstand where even non-Manila residents are accommodated to undergo testing for free, regardless of their reasons.
“It can be made available to everyone, (we’re) just trying to be a good neighbor, trying to be inclusive in our approach to this universal problem,” he told reporters.
The first drive-thru center was opened a little over a week at the Andres Bonifacio Monument near the city hall.
“Gusto naming akapin lahat ng kayang akapin. But one thing is for sure, hangga’t may supply kami, we will never stop, hangga’t ang COVID-19 vaccine ay natagpuan na,” added Moreno.
But to sustain the city’s drive, Moreno is appealing for donations from private sectors and individuals.
Moreno said that the donations will be used to buy more reagents needed to test blood samples taken from patients. (Minka Tiangco)
