United States Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim on Tuesday joined the Philippines and the international community in condemning the two powerful explosions that rocked Jolo, Sulu killing at least 15 people and wounding 55 others.
In a tweet, Kim condoled with the families and loved ones of the victims and assured the Philippines of America’s continued support to strengthen the country’s national security.
“I offer my sincerest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of yesterday’s bombings in Jolo. We join the Philippine government in condemning these attacks and will continue to support our Filipino partners to strengthen national security,” Kim said.
Also on Monday, the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to the Philippines also expressed its condolences and solidarity with the Philippines.
The Embassy of Belarus in Jakarta also sent its sympathy to the Philippine government hours after suspected terrorists reportedly affiliated with the Abu Sayyaf group carried out the attacks.
The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) condemned the recent twin bombings in Jolo, Sulu as “cruel and inhuman.”
