Police recovered a bag containing over P27 million worth of suspected shabu after it was abandoned by a woman in Barangay Paligsahan, Quezon City, Saturday morning.
Investigation showed that the police received a tip that a suspicious woman later identified as Evelyn Ariola Santos was seen carrying a black bag and walking around the second floor ledge of a building in the said area at around 10:30 a.m.
As the police arrived in the area, the suspect reportedly panicked and jumped over to the adjacent property. She scampered away, leaving the black bag behind.
The bag yielded four kilograms of suspected shabu worth around P27,200,000, drug paraphernalia, and Santos’ identification card.
A manhunt operation was launched against the suspect who may face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Minka Tiangco)
