Personnel from the Quezon City government on Friday night raided a restobar and apprehended 16 of its customers for violating various health protocols against spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Members of the city’s Task Force Disiplina held an operation against D’Meet Up restobar on Roosevelt Ave. in Barangay San Antonio after receiving complaints from concerned citizens.
“Nakareceive kami ng complaint through concerned citizens na matagal na nag-ooperate at inaabot ng madaling araw yung operation. Saka unlimited yung mga beers, tapos yung mga health protocols dito, contact tracing, hindi rin nasusunod. At lalong lalo na, parang normal. Nakita naman natin kanina parang normal,”Task Force Disiplina head Rannie Ludovica said.
Ludovica said that the restobar might face a temporary closure of business for not gathering contact tracing information of their customers.
“Yung pinakamabigat po dito, yung section 14 ng regulation ng GCQ (general community quarantine), each establishment magkaroon ho ng contact tracing. Yun ho ang mas mabigat, at talagang permanent closure yun,” he said.
Aside from its employees who were not wearing face masks, Ludovica added, the establishment was functioning as a bar, which is not still allowed in the city during GCQ. It also did not practice social distancing.
“Sa GCQ, bawal pa po ang bar. Ngayon sa restaurant, pinapayagan pa po sila with the maximum of, per person, of 5 bottles of beer with meals. Pero nakita naman natin dito, hindi meals, pulutan,” Ludovica said.
At least 16 customers were apprehended during the operation.
Ludovica has issued a warning against other restobars that are still not following health protocols. He said, they have already identified them and will conduct operations in the coming days.
D’Meet Up was the fourth restobar raided by the city’s Task Force Disiplina, Ludovica said. (Joseph Pedrajas)
