Malacañang said it is glad that the different branches of government are cooperating with the investigation of the Department of Justice on the corruption in the entire government.
Presidential spokesman Harry Roque made the statement after the Congress welcomed President Duterte’s order to the DOJ to launch a probe on the corruption in government until the end of his term.
In a radio interview, Roque said that the Palace is happy with the Congress’ willingness to cooperate with the investigation.
“Nagagalak naman po tayo na nagko-cooperate po ang iba’t ibang sangay ng gobyerno,” he said.
According to Roque, everyone, even lawmakers, are covered by the investigation of the DOJ.
He, however, cited the difference when it comes to the Judiciary and the Legislative branches of government.
So in that sense, hindi talaga magagalaw,” Roque explained.
Last week, Duterte ordered the DOJ to look into the corruption in the entire government as he vowed to devote his attention to eliminating corruption for the rest of his term.
