CAMP GENERAL SIMEON OLA, Legazpi City – Five officers of Gubat Police Station (MPS) narrowly escaped death when armed men believed to be members of the New People’s Army (NPA) ambushed them on Monday afternoon in Gubat town, Sorsogon province.
Senior Inspector Malu Calubaquib, PNP Bicol spokesperson, said police officers SPO1 Ronald D. Din, PO3 Aris E. Hasal, PO1 Gerry H. Gabuyo, PO2 Dennis S. Garbida and PO2 Sheryl Marbella sustained slight wounds and are now in stable condition in a hospital.
Calubaquib said that the cops were on board a police patrol car on their way back to the police station from Camp General Simeon Ola in Legazpi City, Albay, when they were fired upon by a group of armed men in Sitio Casili, Barangay Marinas in Gubat. (Niño N. Luces)
