Three police generals tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as the number of infected personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to rise.
Those who tested positive were Brig. Gen. Ronnie Ylagan, the outgoing director of the Northern Police District; Brig. Gen. Rommil Mitra, head of the Firearms and Explosive Office; and Brig. Gen. Joey Runes, from the Office of the Chief PNP.
PNP chief Gen. Debold Sinas said the three police generals were included in the list of the targeted swab testing earlier. Their results tested positive.
“This is the reason why they did not attend some conferences,” said Sinas.
Currently, there are 8,103 cases of COVID-19 in the PNP, 26 of them died while 370 are considered as active cases. The rest were able to fully recover. (Aaron Recuenco)
