CAVITE – Sometimes being too enthusiastic is not a good trait.
This was what Gov. Jonvic Remulla realized as he retracted Friday his earlier pronouncement that minors aged 10 years old and above will be allowed inside various malls in the province this December.
In a statement, Remulla clarified that only residents aged 15 to 65 are allowed to enter the mall premises and that mall hours will remain the same.
The governor apologized for jumping the gun and drafting the mall guidelines immediately after reading from the papers that the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases is allowing minors to go to malls.
“First of all, allow me to sincerely apologize as I take full responsibility for my announcement of the new mall policy last Dec 2 and 3,” Remulla wrote on a Facebook post.
“I was wrong to be too enthusiastic in the resumption of personal freedom for the people of Cavite. I take full responsibility and I apologize.”
“Ang kagustuhan ko lang naman ay mapagbigyan ang mga kabataan na matagal nang naka-bartolina sa bahay. Makaramdam man lang sana ng kaunting saya ang mga bata na makapasyal ngayong kapaskuhan kasama ang buong pamilya. Hindi pala pwede. I have no one to blame but myself,” he added. (Carla Deña)
