BINAN CITY, Laguna – A New People’s Army (NPA) member tagged as most wanted person in Cagayan Valley for a string of criminal charges was arrested Saturday afternoon by government forces in Barangay Sto. Tomas, here.
Laguna Police provincial director Col. Serafin Petalio II identified the arrested suspect as Joenel Lazo, also known as Joenel Gallardo and Ka Sendo Femy, of Olivarez Home, Phase 3, Barangay Sto. Tomas, also this city.
Lazo was arrested in the joint operation launched by Biñan City Police Station and Provincial Intelligence Unit of Laguna Police Provincial Office in coordination with Cagayan Police.
Based on the arrest warrant issued by the court, the suspect is facing 10 counts of murder, 10 counts of attempted murder, a crime of arson, illegal possession of explosives and ammunition.
He is now under the temporary custody of Biñan City Police Station. (Danny Estacio)
