Two Philippine-inspired Jordan sneakers have been the talk of the town following the announcements of their release on December 23.
Consider it as an early Christmas present for sneakerheads as the Jordan brand and local retailed Titan will be launching the Jordan XXIII and XXXV “Titan” colorway.
With all the hype and success between the partnership, Raoul Reinoso, Titan’s director of special projects, talked about the “unquestionable” influence of NBA legend Michael Jordan — the man behind the “Jumpman” logo — on Filipinos
For Reinoso, Jordan’s popularity in the Philippines reached beyond expectations despite the limited access, cable for instance, to the NBA as compared today.
But that didn’t hinder how Jordan touched the lives of Filipino basketball fans and players, he said.
“That was basically our exposure to MJ, yet despite those limitations, his influence on the Philippines is unquestionable,” Reinoso told Jian Deleon in a Q-and-A article onair.jordan.com.
“People went great lengths to really watch and learn more about him, whether it was through stories from parents, or having overseas relatives literally send tapes of his games.” (Carlo Anolin)

Tiger Woods, son steal show
MIAMI (AFP) – Charlie Woods stole the show alongside 15-time major winning father Tiger at the PNC Championship as Justin Thomas and his father, Mike, walked away with the trophy in the family event on Sunday.
But trophy or not, Woods said the outing with his 11-year-old son was something he’d never forget.
”I don’t think words can describe it,” Woods said. ”Just the fact that we were able to have this experience together, Charlie and I, it’s memories for our entire lives.”
Team Woods, both clad in Tiger’s signature Sunday red and black, finished seventh in the 20-team field of major champions playing alongside a family member in a two-day event at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.
Charlie, the youngest competitor in the tournament’s history, displayed a sweet swing that was strikingly like his famous father’s.
The similarities didn’t end there. When he rolled in a birdie putt at the 10th in their 10-under 62 on Sunday, Charlie gave a swinging fist-pump that was all Woods.

Fastest goal in Serie A history
MILAN (AFP) – AC Milan forward Rafael Leao scored the fastest-ever goal in Serie A history on Sunday, netting after just six seconds in a 2-1 win at Sassuolo which kept his side top of the table ahead of city rivals Inter Milan.
Milan, chasing a first Serie A title since 2011, launched straight onto the attack from kick-off, with Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu setting up Leao to slot home the rapid opener.
The previous fastest goal in the Italian top flight had been Paolo Poggi’s for Piacenza against Fiorentina in December 2001 after eight seconds.
