A 39-year-old passenger was barred from boarding a domestic flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 yesterday after he presented to the airline crew his medical certificate indicating that he is positive for coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19).
The check-in counter crew of Philippine Airlines immediately called the attention of NAIA Terminal 2 medical team which immediately responded.
Authorities learned that the passenger stayed in General Trias Cavite, but he took his swab test in Imus Health Department as one of the requirements for travel to provinces.
The passenger said he arrived at the NAIA Terminal 2 from Cavite around 5 p.m. on December 20, but his flight to Butuan was scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on December 21.
The airport medical team communicated with the local government unit of General Trias, Cavite, which sent an ambulance that fetched the passenger for his proper medication. (Ariel Fernandez)
