The Taguig City police will file a complaint of three counts of parricide against a father who killed his wife and two kids on Christmas Day.
Taguig police chief Police Col. Celso Rodriguez said they will file the criminal complaint against Aiko Siacunco, 29, of Kamias St., North Signal, Taguig today before the city prosecutor’s office of Taguig where he will undergo inquest proceedings.
He said the police determined that Siacunco killed his wife Karina on Dec. 24 and murdered his two kids, Akira, 3, and Kion, 1, at about 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 25.
Rodriguez said based on their investigation, his wife died of asphyxia by strangulation. Siacunco strangled her with his hands before hanging her to deceive investigators and her family and make it appear that she committed suicide.
“Pero sa ginawa niya sa mga anak niya, at kung nakayanan niyang patayin ‘yung mga anak niya, parehong-pareho kasi ng pagsakal (But what he did to his kids, if he was able to murder them, the strangulation is the same),” Rodriguez said.
The police said Siacunco murdered his two kids by strangling them with his hands and rope and covered them with a pillow. He surrendered to the police.
Rodriguez said depression and jealousy are the two possible motives why he killed his family. The suspect told police that he was suffering depression as he was jobless and often heard snide remarks from relatives that he was being supported by his wife.
On the other hand, relatives said he was jealous because of Karina’s work as a call center agent. Karina would entertain calls from clients but the suspect never proved that his wife had an extramarital affair, Rodriguez said.
The bodies of the three victims are at the Our Lady of Loreto Funeral Services in Lower Bicutan, Taguig and will be transferred to Iloilo.
Rodriguez also said Siacunco will be taken to the National Center for Mental Health in Mandaluyong City for psychiatric and psychological evaluation. Siacunco is detained at the Taguig police station custodial facility. (Jonathan Hicap)
