Rains will continue to affect a huge part of the archipelago due to the prevalence of two low-pressure areas (LPAs) yesterday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) estimated the locations of the LPA at 80 kilometers (kms) west of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan and 85 kms east of Legazpi City, Albay as of 10 a.m. yesterday.
PAGASA said both weather disturbances remain less likely to develop into a tropical depression within 24 hours.
However, due to improvements in the cloud system of the LPAs over the past 12 hours, the likelihood of tropical cyclone formation is not ruled out at this time, the State weather bureau noted.
