ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police seized about a kilo of suspected shabu worth P6.8 million from three reported drug dealers in a buy-bust operation in Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay last Sunday.
Zamboanga Peninsula police director Police Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Genaro E. Ylagan said the anti-illegal drug operation was conducted in Barangay Lumbog at 2:15 p.m.
Ylagan identified the suspects as Crimalde I. Tarawi, 53, of Simunul, Tawi-Tawi; Albasir N. Masihul, 26, of Barangay Sawa, Mabuhay, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Basir B. Alano, 48, of Tulay, Jolo, Sulu.
Ylagan said the suspects were arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group, Imelda Municipal Police Station, and First Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Mobile Force Company.
Seized from the suspects were a black plastic bag containing 18 packs of shabu that weighed 1,000 grams with an estimated market value of P6.8 million and
a bag containing the buy-bust money.
The three suspects were taken to the Imelda Municipal Police Station and will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Nonoy Lacson)
