A jealous farmer stabbed to death his live-in partner in front of her horrified relatives, prompting the woman’s brother to shoot him dead Saturday morning in Barangay Manggalang, Sariaya, Quezon.
The woman, Leilanie Montejo, 37, succumbed to multiple stab wounds inflicted by her partner Aldwin Bacaro, 38, who later died due to a bullet wound in the head.
Police report showed that Bacaro, out of jealousy, stabbed the victim with a fan knife in the presence of her relatives at about 3:40 a.m. in their house in Sitio Duluhan, Baranggay Manggalang.
The woman’s relatives tried to appease Bacaro but he ignored them.
At this point, the woman’s brother, Emerson Roño, who also witnessed the incident, shot the suspect once in the head.
The woman was rushed to the San Juan Doctor’s Hospital in San Juan, Batangas, but to no avail.
Roño, on the other hand, voluntarily surrendered to the Sariaya Police after he shot and killed Bacaro.
Police probers recovered from the scene a fan knife and two spent shells of .45-caliber gun.
