Mikee Quintos, Kelvin Miranda, Thea Tolentino and Paul Salas all vowed to do their best having been tapped to star in GMA News TV’s first big offering for the year, “The Lost Recipe.”
The innovative fantasy-romance series is to start airing today, Jan. 18, and its stars are one in saying it is something totally enjoyable.
“Maganda, masaya and something new ito,” said Mikee. “And we all did our best to make it entertaining para sa mga manonood. Of course, we aim to continue doing our best for it para naman hindi ma fail yung expectations ng mga tao sa amin.”
Kelvin said very much the same.
“Siyempre, kahit dati pa naman, I always try to do my best in everything assigned to me. Happy ako na napili ako para sa proyektong ito so, once again, I aim to deliver,” he said.
Thea intoned, “Parati sinasabi ng mga tao na kontrabida daw ako parati sa mga sahow at wala naman ako bago ipapakita pero, ditto, I think magugulat uli ang mga tao sa kung ano ang ipapakita ko.”
Paul added, “Yung eagerness to do my best parati naman andyan. Kahit anong role, kahit anong project so, ito hindi naiba. Kung sakali man e, mas ginalingan ko pa.”
Set in picturesque Manila, “The Lost Recipe” not only highlights Filipinos’ love for food.
It follows the story of Harvey (Kelvin), a failed chef who gets the chance of a lifetime when he manages to travel back in time to steal a famous recipe and make it his own. While chasing his dream to build a culinary empire for his family, he meets Apple (Mikee), an aspiring chef who gets to work in his company.
Even before beginning the taping for the series, Mikee has been exploring the kitchen herself.
“Being stuck at home because of the quarantine, ang daming time mag-explore sa kitchen and magluto. I find it therapeutic kasi nagfo-focus ka sa pagluto, wala kang ibang iniisip, so sana makatulong ang mga natutunan ko nitong pandemic sa show na ito. Kelvin and I are working together to best show the viewers the story of ‘The Lost Recipe’ and sana this series will somehow give hope and inspire people to dream,” she said.
“The Lost Recipe” will be Kelvin’s first-ever lead role in a primetime series and he is happy for the unexpected blessing.
“First time ko makakagawa ng ganitong klaseng project. Lahat ng naging trabaho ko seryoso so ang laking panibago sa akin na mula seryoso naging romance and comedy. Excited na ako,” he said.
Directed by Monti Parungao, “The Lost Recipe” is to air weeknights, 8 pm on GMA News TV.
