Man found dead inside car in Negros Oriental

BACOLOD CITY – A man was found dead with a gunshot wound in the head inside a white car on Diversion Road in Purok Morning Glory, Barangay Isugan, Bacong, Negros Oriental, on Tuesday.

Police identified the fatality as Ferdinand Escalante, 35, of Valencia town, an alleged member of the LGBT community.

Maj. Fortunato Villafuerte, town police chief, said a white Hyundai Accent was reportedly parked in the area since Monday night.

Villafuerte said that concerned citizens called the police when they found the body inside the vehicle.

He said the victim’s head was wrapped with a plastic and bore a gunshot wound.

He said the victim was found at the passenger’s seat, while a slug of .45 caliber was found on the driver’s side.

He said they are looking for a copy of closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera to help them in the investigation.

Police have yet to determine the motive behind the killing. (Glazyl Masculino)
