A low-pressure area was spotted east of Mindanao but it still has no direct effect over the country, the State weather bureau said yesterday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) estimated the LPA’s location at 1,665 kilometers east of Mindanao.
“In the next three days, we are not expecting it to enter our Philippine Area of Responsibility and so far its chances of becoming a typhoon are low,” said Aldczar Aurelio, PAGASA weather specialist.
The northeast monsoon or “amihan” continues to affect Northern and Central Luzon and will bring cool weather over most parts of the region, especially at night and early morning.
Due to amihan, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains may be experienced in Metro Manila, Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon). (Jhon Casinas)
