ILIGAN CITY – A drug suspect was killed while two others were arrested in two separate anti-drugs operations conducted by police and anti-narcotics agents in Pantar, Lanao del Norte last Saturday.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 10 director Emerson R. Rosales said suspects Hasmine Said, 21, and Macmac Comadug, 40, were nabbed around 10:20 a.m. Saturday in Kalanganan East Pantar.
The duo yielded some P6.8 million worth of shabu during the operation.
They are now temporarily detained at the PDEA Regional Office 10 while the seized evidence were turned over to its laboratory for examination.
On the same day, at about 2:30 p.m., PDEA agents and Pantar police launched another buy-bust in Barangay Campong, that led to the death of another drug personality.
Pantar Police officer-in-charge Lt. Christovic D. Dumaog identified the slain suspect as Jose Doque Capon Powao.
Prior to the shooting, a poseur-buyer managed to purchase P1,000 worth shabu from the suspect. When he noticed that he transacted with a cop, Powao drew a gun, prompting the operatives to shoot him.
He was declared dead on arrival at Balo-i Provincial Hospital.
