Thanks to a deep cover agent, police authorities were able to seize P13.6 million of shabu and arrest a drug syndicate’s courier in a buy-bust in San Pedro, Laguna.
The suspect was identified as Edgarfeel Sakilan, 42, who works as a driver of the illegal drug group composed of Filipino-Muslim and Chinese nationals.
With the help of a deep penetration agent, Sakilan was positively identified as courier of illegal drugs of the group in Central Luzon, Metro Manila and some areas of Laguna and nearby provinces.
Police Lt. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police (PNP) lauded the gallant effort of the agent who was able to penetrate the drugs syndicate of Sakilan.
Sakilan was arrested after receiving the marked money in Saint Joseph Village in San Pedro on Tuesday night.
Seized from him were two kilos of shabu, a sedan with license plate AEA 9728, and a cellular phone.
Eleazar said the suspect is one of the cohorts of the arrested Michael Romualdez, a warehouseman in Imus City, Cavite.
“The illegal drugs supplies were from a certain Chinese national who contacted them using an international number based in Hongkong. Their illegal drug group is composed of Filipino-Muslim and Chinese nationals and illegal drug trade is operated through dispatching vehicles loaded with the illegal drugs,” said Eleazar.
Eleazar said the illegal drug transaction of the group was discovered when one of the personnel of the PNP entered the drug syndicate through a confidential informant. Members of the group reside at Doña Soledad, Taguig and AFP Village, Taguig.
During the monitoring and surveillance of the operating teams, it was learned that they have been using different vehicles in their illegal drug transactions.
Sakilan is now facing illegal drug charges and is currently under custody of the local police.
