“Fan Girl,” a film about a teenage girl, who spent an unforgettable night with her movie idol, was the big winner at the 4th EDDYS (Entertainment Editors’ Choice).
It reaped seven of 14 trophies given on Easter Sunday’s awards show as organized by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) and produced in participation with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
The 2020 film took Best Actress for Charlie Dizon and Best Actor for Paulo Avelino.
Antoinette Jadaone emerged as Best Director for the same film, which also got Best Screenplay honors.
“Fan Girl” was also hailed as the 4th EDDYS Best Picture.
The awards night celebrated many firsts.
It was the first online edition of the EDDYS, as aired on the FDCP Channel (fdcpchannel.ph) and simulcast on the SPEEd Facebook Page, as well as various online platforms.
The 4th EDDYS also honored the first Isah V. Red awardees, in honor of the late SPEEd founding chairman.
Also recognized was FDCP chairman and CEO Liza Diño, whose tireless efforts in support of the Philippine entertainment industry have not gone unnoticed.
