Pen Medina, one of the country’s finest actors, is ailing.
His son, Alex, also an actor, made this known via social media Saturday, posting “a call for charity” for his father.
According to Alex, the 71-year-old has been “in the hospital for three weeks now and currently cannot sit or stand up due to Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD).”
He added that Pen is scheduled for “a major spine surgery” next week, Tuesday.
He is hoping people could help them financially.
“Due to the pandemic, our dad scarcely had any work, which siphoned his savings over the past two years. We are trying to help him as best as we can but it will be a long road to sufficient recovery for him,” he said.
“We humbly appeal for your charitable help and prayers as our family navigates through helping him get back on his feet – literally and figuratively.”
Those willing to help may visit his Instagram account for details.
