New role, same mission for three-time Olympian and former Philippine Sports Commissioner Akiko Thomson-Guevara.
The most decorated swimmer in PH history will be busy as a bee in the coming months as she intends to help sports associations in various ways.
Though she is the current vice president of Adrenaline Solutions, Thomson-Guevara’s foremost concern is how to help athletes realize their dreams to become SEA Games and Asian Games champions or even Olympic medalists.
The agency they formed offers services designed for sports associations to become more effective and efficient organizations and teach coaches how to become more holistic and nuanced in their training approach and methodologies.
Thomson-Guevara who won his first Southeast Asian Games medal in 1987 when she was just 13 years old knew that training for athletes must be emphasized, targeted, and scientific in order to be able to compete in the grandest stage in sports – something that Adrenaline Solution provides to its athletes and coaches.
Thomson-Guevarra along with founders Noli Ayo from Ateneo de Davao and Marc Dagenais from Canada hope to fill the gaps in the sporting landscape that needed solutions including areas such as sports development and coaches education and continuous learning.
“There are three primary areas that we would like to deliver for our partners, our clients, and they are in the areas of leadership and coach education, athlete development, and marketing and management support,” said Ayo. (Reynald Magallon)
