President Bongbong Marcos has appointed sportscaster Noli Eala as new chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission.
Eala will serve as the 11th chairman of the government sports agency, succeeding Butch Ramirez who has served under President Duterte’s administration.
Eala’s appointment letter was transmitted Tuesday, Aug. 30.
Eala was also a former PBA commissioner from 2003 until 2007.
Before he became the league commissioner, he was a play-by-play commentator of Viva-Vintage Sports, which broadcasts the PBA games, from the early 1990s until 2002.
The three other members of the PSC board will also be out this week.
Bowling legend Bong Coo was the first to be appointed in the PSC Board.
