“A bigger ‘Mano Po.'”
This is how Regal Entertainment Inc. and Regal Multimedia Inc. COO & Vice President Roselle Monteverde describes the third installment of the “Mano Po Legacy” series, “The Flower Sisters.”
GMA Network’s First Vice President for Program Management Department Joey R. Abacan wholeheartedly agree.
He said, “Everytime we produce a ‘Mano Po’ series, we want to make sure that this will be a little bit bigger. I’m sure the story is going to be very good. Ibabalik natin ‘yung drama that we did for ‘Mano Po 1.’ There’s more catchy lines. And we have an amazing cast for this third installment.”
Roselle added, “Hand-picked talaga sila, in-audition at talagang finit sila sa mga role na ‘yan.”
Following the highly-successful airing of the first two installments, “The Family Fortune” and “Her Big Boss,” GMA Network and Regal Entertainment will continue to captivate viewers’ hearts and touch lives with “The Flower Sisters.”
Bannered by Aiko Melendez as Lily, Thea Tolentino as Dahlia, Angel Guardian as Iris and Beauty Gonzalez as Violet, “Mano Po Legacy: The Flower Sisters” revolves around four daughters of a taipan from different mothers.
Aiko revealed that after hearing about her role, she’s been thinking about the right portrayal for her character.
“Ipo-proseso ko muna kung sino doon sa mga character in my head ang ipo-portray ko ‘pag nag-start na yung taping. Looking forward to start working with everyone.”
Meanwhile, Thea admitted that she feels pressured for this new TV project.
“Madalas po kasi akong kontrabida dati pero nitong pandemic yung nagiging role ko is mabait na, so I think ‘yung gradual transition from kontrabida to having a mabait na character is para dito sa Mano Po.”
Angel expressed how thankful she is to be part of the series.
“Sobrang grateful po and excited ako na makatrabaho ang lahat. Ida-digest ko muna for now lahat ng sinabi ni Direk Joey (Reyes) about my character and I’m gonna read all the scripts.”
Just like Angel, Beauty is also excited for her role as Violet.
“Ibang-iba ito sa lahat ng characters na nagampanan ko sa TV and I’m so excited to work with everyone especially with Aiko since dati magkatapat yung shows namin. I’m excited to read the script more and to work with new people.”
