Sex takes front and center once again in “Two And One,” a new Vivamax film.
In it, a gay couple (Miggy Jimenez and Paolo Pangilinan) realizes they aren’t sexually compatible, so they look for a third wheel, another man, whom they believe will make things exciting for them.
Enter Joaquin as played by Cedrick Miguel.
The set up worked great in the beginning with Joaquin allowing the two to use him literally and figuratively.
But things would go downhill from there and quickly, with the couple’s insecurities now even more magnified.
According to film director Ivan Andrew Payawal, the film is mainly about the complications inherent to gay relationships.
“But it doesn’t end there,” he made clear, noting how the film is also about pains, awakenings, realizations, among other things inherently human.
“Hindi lang siya pang LGBTQ lang,” Ivan maintained. “It’s about being human.”
Note that both Cedrick and Miggy aren’t gay in real life.
But they were both thankful being cast in the film inasmuch as it allowed them new learning.
“Lumawak ang understanding ko lalo na sa gay culture and lifestyle and I think it’s a good thing,” said Cedrick.
Miggy added, “Roles like these excite me as an actor. Yung may mga bago kang natututunan along the way. It was a huge challenge playing a gay character but it was quite rewarding.”
“Two And One” now streams on Vivamax.
