SEN. Imee Marcos inducted the officers of the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd), led by its president Eugene Asis (entertainment editor, People’s Journal) at the Kamuning Bakery Café on Thursday, October 14.
Sen. Imee is a staunch supporter of the local film industry who has produced a number of monumental films like ‘Oro, Plata, Mata’ and ‘Himala’ under Experimental Cinema of the Philippines. Recently, Sen. Imee also co-produced the controversial hit film, “Maid in Malacanang” which is now making the rounds of the European theater circuit, after its Middle East, Canada and US tour.
Meanwhile, SPEEd officers are quite honored for the support of Sen. Imee. The entertainment editors group, which started as a social club, has also extended its efforts to scholarship and reach-out programs, and annually gives awards to deserving film actors and artists through its Eddys Awards, slated this year in November.
